The Great Outdoor Challenge comes through Glenesk

The week beginning 17th May sees many walkers  who are undertaking the Great Outdoor Challenge making their way through Glenesk. We welcome you and hope you will take the opportunity to partake in our evening carry out service, a menu will be available at the campsite, or come for a sit down meal at the retreat restaurant. and of course we will be delighted to open the Retreat for breakfast in the mornings from 9am, please phone the day before to book to ensure we open for you.

The Cairngorms Ceilidh Trail delighted the Retreat clientele with 2hrs of free live music on Saturday (14/07/07) afternoon

Inaugural Ceilidh at the Retreat (2007)

A Ceilidh was held in the evening and again the atmosphere was buzzing.  A spokesperson for the Ceilidh Band said “We started of playing to fast and quickly realised that the dancers would never last the night, therefore we slowed the pace slightly and intermittently played listening sets to give the dancers a rest”.
